Farm Services

Our charging structure is deliberately simple and transparent. Fees are based on a visit charge plus time spent, charged in small units, so you only pay for the work done. Current fees are available on request.

Herd and Flock Health Planning

Health planning that is proportionate, relevant and useful on farm. This includes High Herd Health schemes, routine reviews and structured planning around disease control, biosecurity and performance. Plans are based on how your farm actually operates and are reviewed as priorities or circumstances change.

Proactive Parasite and Medicine Planning

Parasite control and medicines planning tailored to your farm and stock type. This includes worm and fluke strategies, use of diagnostics where appropriate, and sensible, responsible medicine use. The aim is effective disease control without unnecessary treatments or complexity.

Youngstock Health

Practical support for calf and youngstock health, growth and long term performance. This may include investigation of scouring or pneumonia problems, review of colostrum management and rearing systems, and development of simple, workable protocols. The emphasis is on getting the basics right and keeping things consistent.

Sick Animals and Emergencies

Prompt, practical care for sick or injured animals across all farmed species. We aim to deal with problems efficiently, minimise disruption to the rest of the herd or flock, and give clear advice on treatment, likely outcomes and next steps. Out of hours care is provided directly by the practice, maintaining continuity and familiarity.

Disease Investigation

Support with investigating ongoing or unexplained problems such as fertility issues, milk quality concerns, poor growth, increased losses or disease outbreaks. A systematic approach is taken, combining clinical assessment, diagnostics and farm records where helpful, to identify underlying causes and agree sensible, achievable actions.

Fertility and Reproduction

Routine and problem solving fertility work for dairy and beef herds. This includes fertility visits, pregnancy diagnosis, and investigation of poor performance where things aren’t going to plan. The focus is on practical decision making that fits your system, rather than rigid protocols, with the aim of improving outcomes in a realistic and sustainable way.

Records, Data and Performance

Use of farm records and performance data where helpful to support decision making. This may include fertility figures, health records, milk quality or growth rates. The focus is on making information useful and relevant, rather than producing data for its own sake

Advisory Work and On Farm Training

Advisory services include MilkSure support, TB advisory work, Johne’s advice and disease control planning. Bespoke on farm training can be provided for farm staff, focused on practical skills, understanding and consistency. This is tailored to your system and the issues that matter most to you.
