Castration and Surgery

Castration is one of the most common surgical procedures in equine practice. Whether for management, behaviour, or long-term welfare, we perform castrations under standing sedation or general anaesthesia as appropriate, with full post-operative support to ensure a smooth recovery.

We also offer a range of other surgical procedures on-site, including:

  • Dental surgery and extractions

  • Wound repair and suturing

  • Lump removal and biopsies

  • Minor ophthalmic procedures

  • Laser treatment for sarcoids and melanomas

For more complex cases, we work closely with trusted referral centres and specialist surgeons, ensuring your horse receives the care it needs while maintaining continuity of care — something we know is vital for both horse and owner
